Join small scale mushroom cultivation expert Tom Nagy of River City Mushrooms as he introduces you to the world of foraging for wild edible and medicinal mushrooms in Manitoba. During this program, you will learn the fundamental skills necessary for confidently differentiating between and identifying species of fungi that can be found growing in a variety of habitat types throughout the province. Tom will lead a foraging walk in the trails located near The Studio to identify fungi and places it is found growing.

Numerous common and beginner-friendly edible and medicinal mushroom species will also be highlighted and analyzed in detail, including which season they appear and ideas for how to cook and preserve your harvest.
